IDE
Terminal
Use the IDE's terminal with PowerShell or Command Prompt, several sessions and saved sessions, and see where agent commands and machine metrics show up.
The terminal sits under the editor in the Workbench. Press Ctrl+J to show or hide it. It is a real terminal that starts in your project folder.
Sessions#
- Terminal 1 opens in the project folder when you open a project.
- The sessions list, Sessions, has New terminal, and each session can be renamed or closed.
- Change shell provider offers PowerShell and Command Prompt (CMD).
- Saved sessions saves a set of terminals and opens it again later.
- Without a project, the terminal says No workspace open.
Where agent commands run#
Commands that agents run do not appear in your terminal sessions. They run in the background in your project folder, after you approve them, and their output appears under the chat box in the Terminals chip, titled Agent terminals. See Approvals and safety.
A dev server an agent starts in the background keeps running after the run ends and stops when you close the IDE. See Agent tools.
Machine metrics#
GPU load, video memory, system memory and GPU temperature are in the Machine tab of the Run view.
FAQ#
Can I use Git Bash or WSL?
The shell menu offers PowerShell and Command Prompt. You can start another shell from either of them.
Why is a command I approved not in my terminal?
Agent commands run separately. Their output is in the Terminals chip under the chat box.
